Support our sponsor....it really is a great product!

We have a ton of illusions and routines and each year we rotate them in and out of the show schedule. Even then we try to bring a large variety of entertainment to every booking. At most fairs and amusement parks we rotate three different shows each day (grant it there are a couple of elements like the fire-eating and bullwhip that are the same in everyshow...and that's how the audience wants it). Below are some of the new or returning illusions to 09.
(I should mention that the list is not complete and new or returning routines and illusions make it in and out all the time. In other words, subject to change without notice!)

Modern Art Meets Circus!

Impaled!

The Blackstone Drum Illusion!

Tales!

While on the road with the big show or a fair/festival show we like to visit local libraries and the like and do a little-big show. Below is an article that made the front page of the Red Bluff Daily News July 3, 2008. As you can see we try to bring even big tricks to the little shows.

Musical!

The three eldest Kent Kids (Jim, Princess Cynthia, and Miles) each play at least one instrument. So we have added a little music to the show. Jim on the T-bone, Princess on the Trumpet, and Miles on the Sax. They will present their first performance in brass of "Oh Baby Mine (My one desire)" on our Kentucky-Minnesota-Newy York tour. (photo coming soon).

We have a Blog!

Many people have aksed us about our life as a performing family...a big family, and our travels. So we created a blog to keep you informed. We will keep it updated as often as possible so check it out:

Kent's perform at a real castle...in California!

2009
PIZZA PIZZA PIZZA

The Kent Family performs (for their 4th time) at the famous Central Valley Pizza Festival in Lemoore, California.

The FireWhip-New to 07

Miles turns 13 in July and got an early birthday gift. Starting in February Mailes introduces his Firewhip. Just like a regular whip but with the crack of the whip comes a fireball. Great for outdoor nighttime venues. See the video at youtube.com

Magic Marathon for Muscular Dystrophy 1980
Negatives of Victor Kent's First Producing Job Services
Feb 17, 2007

Stretch Berham and Chuck Mignosa ham it up for Jerry's Kids.

In 1980 fifteen-year-old Victor Kent produced a benefit show for Jerry's Kids in Milpitas California. Until recently no photographic record was know to exist. However, during an office cleaning a box containing years of show memorabilia was found and among the items was a yellow envelope with old black and white negatives. We scanned the photos into the computer and have now posted them for posterity. Check it out at this link: The MDA Page

Victor Kent Profiled
From the Appeal-Democrat (Jan. 23, 2007)

Victor Kent

By John Dickey/Appeal-Democrat

Mami Kinnamont/For the Appeal-Democrat
Magician Victor Kent, 41, practices a card flip outside his Oroville-area home.

  • Name: Victor Kent
  • Age: 41

  • Family: Seven children, ages 17 months to 16 years
  • City of residence: Oroville

  • Occupation: Magician, producer, hypnotist, sideshow geek and ringmaster of sorts for the Kent Family Magic Circus, a magic variety show I perform with my family.

  • What keeps you in the Mid-Valley area? After living and performing in Japan for six years in the late ’80s to early ’90s, we wanted to move back to the United States. Since my folks retired up here, we thought we would start off here. Next thing we know, we established roots - made friends, found a church and a school. Now, after any long travels to crowded areas like L.A. or the Bay Area to do shows, it’s nice to return to the quieter life of this area.

  • If you were granted one wish, what would you wish for? I’m not much on wishing. I like to go out and do, make it happen. But if I were to wish, it would be for wealth so that I wouldn’t have to charge for our shows. I would also support foundations that did charities that I agreed with.

  • Favorite sports teams: San Francisco 49ers, San Francisco Giants, Sacramento Kings and my daughter’s high school basketball team

  • Whom do you most admire and why? James Stewart; he went through Hollywood gossip-free, married once, served his country with honor in World War II and was a good Christian. No one in Hollywood today can even hold a candle next to a picture of him, let alone to him.

  • Tell us about a life-changing experience: Marriage, obviously; I stopped being me, and it became us.

  • How would you describe yourself? Truthful. I hate deceit in others, so I demand no less than truth of myself. Loyal, patriotic, brash but compassionate and hard working.

  • What kind of pets do you have? My personal pets are a Sorcata tortoise and a Goffen cockatoo. We also have a dog, a cat and a cockatiel, two mini-Rex bunnies, a Flemish giant, an English angora, a Netherland dwarf, about 14 doves and a chicken.

  • What is your dream job? I am a performer. I get to entertain. I get to travel around the world. I meet people all around the world. I eat food and see things I otherwise might not ever get the chance. I have the dream job of the ages!
  • What are your favorite foods? Korean barbecue, Italian, sushi and a normal cup of coffee

  • What is your worst fear? Anything bad happening to children - any child and, yes, especially my own

  • What is your favorite trick? I like all the tricks I do, and favorites rotate in and out.

  • Which magician influenced you the most? I love early David Copperfield, Doug Henning and Blackstone Jr. I now own a prop of my childhood favorite, Mark Wilson; I went to Los Angeles and picked it up from him. It was cool. I don’t care for a lot of the magic on television today because it can only be done on television.

    Kent Family Introduces New Member
Princess Amelia joins show one year earlier than planned!

Princess Amelia is the youngest kent to join the show ever. Now three, she was Still in diapers at the age of 2 and she was and still is a natural on stage. In our show she has become the world's youngest mind reader. An audinece member picks a card and she knows which card it is and proves it; She comes out wearing the card.
    Corporate Bookings Increase
as Companies Look for Clean High Quality Acts
Over the past few years the corporate market has quickly been becoming a major market for the Kent Family. Word is out that the show is not "Barney" and as one corporate buyer said, "It's getting hard to find clean funny shows now-a-days".
2005 showed at 300% growth in the corporate market for the Kent's. To the right Victor performs a classic at the Clarion Shutters (Sacramento) employee Chrsitmas party.
