We had to practice Impaled so we taped it. More on Canada Coming.
In this blog we perform at the Orange Grove Festival. It starts off with Victor being a little peeved at not being able to get in to set up but blooms into a wonder and exciting event. Lots of show performance clips and clips of the Sundance Dogs and Chaz Marquette, comedy unicylist. The organizer really knows how to throw a festival and pulls out all the stops for the festival goer to have a great time.
In this blog we perform at the Burlington, WI Chocolate Festival May 28-May31. The Kent Family Magic Circus performs at the Burlington Chocolate Fest. May 2010. Part 2 Gives details of the family and the show at the Festival. Kinda of a travel channel meets TLC.
In this blog we perform at the Burlington, WI Chocolate Festival May 28-May31. The Kent Family Magic Circus performs at the Burlington Chocolate Fest. May 2010. Part 1 gives the history and details of the Festival as we give you a tour of the event.
In this blog we perform for an elementary school and a Junior High School, both within two hours from our home. Jim, Vic Jr., Amelia, Olivia and Victor Sr. perform in these shows. Since school shows are held in multipurpose rooms where meals, classes and assemblies take place it is important to have a quick set up and tear down. So you will notice we don't carry a lot of sets or big illusions (unless specially asked to do so). This blog has a couple of performance clips but the real storyis before and after the shows.
In preparing for our 2010 summer-fall tour we decided to buy an RV. After all with the wife and our disabled son Titus on the trip we need the convinience a Motorhome has to offer. While visiting Ray's RV near Fairfield, CA to drop off paperwork we decided to mix business with pleasure and take the little ones to the Jelly Belly Factory. The tours are free and a lot of fun.
Some folks have asked how we develop an idea and build it into a working part of the show. Here is a peek into how we decide, develop, and modify or build a strolling character.

The Kent Family in the persons of Jugglin' Jim and Freckle Face the Clown perform for an hour on Family night at Woodstocks Pizza in Downtown Chico, CA. Fans of the family and others came out and were entertained as Jim strolled and juggled while stilt walking and later balanced tables, chairs, menus, and more on his face. Cynthia,as Freckle Face the Clown, made balloon animals and swords for the happy kids.
The Kent Family perform a three hour program for Oroville Church of the Nazarene during their C3 program. The parents had a meal and a meeting while the kids were our charge. Magic, Bullwhip, mind reading, games, limbo, pizza, ice-cream, and lots of fun and praise.
Jugglin' Jim was absent ashe was the MC for a Christian Youth COncert at our Homechurch across town. He used his showmanship skills to keep the program interesting and moving along smoothly.
Unlike our tours this show was only 10 minutes from our home so the viewer will see what the landscape around our town is like. As spring burns in the emerald green of last week is giving way to the golden brown that is our landscape from April through October. We perfoem many shows east of Nebraska where it is green all the time but with it comes humidity. Oroville, Ca can never be called humid....unless it is raining.
In this episode you see our short trip one town over to perform a short but entertaining show for King's Christian School. The school does wonderful work bringing childrenup smart and with a knowledge of God. Though we don't focus heavily on the show we give you a short view into set-up, conversations, and interactions of our program.
This episode has Victor Kent, Jugglin' Mama, Indiana Miles, Pirncess Amelia, and Princess Olivia....oh,yeah, also strring Buttercup the snake.

The Kent Family performs their fifth year at the Central Valley Pizza Festival in Lemoore, California on April 18, 2010.
In this episode you see our travels in and out of the event with comments from whole family. You will see bits of Mami's new juggling routine as she performs at her second festival ever. We have the "Titus Cam", a camera mounted on twelve-year-old Titus' wheel chair as we tour the midway. There is also coverage of the Fatte Albert's giant Pizza eating contest. Some comments from the crowds and a tour of the event.
Lemoore has hosted the Pizza Festival for ten years and we were their first variety to be invited to perform with them five years ago. Lemoore chose pizza as their subject of celebration because many if not all the ingredients for making pizza are grown or made in Lemoore. There are two cheese factories, tomato fields, and herbs, wheat, garlic, etc are also grown there to various degrees.
There is a carnival, games, and a variety of vendor booths. There is also pizza. Several booths offer a variety of Pizzas including a Mexican influenced Chili verde pork, white sauce pizza, which was to die for.
It is a two-day event and this was our first time performing on Sunday at the event. It was also the first time the event wasn't held in the downtown area but just outside of town at the new West Hills College campus. It was a fabulous location creating a wonderful fair atmosphere.
